Editing your Brand Preferences - add more customization for BRIEF Output Settings!

In a previous release, we provided you with the ability to set your output settings for LETTER and SUM in your Brand Preferences. You can now do the same for your BRIEF outputs with headline character count and headline casing style.

To get started, click on the “Settings” icon and then click on “Brands.” From there, you can either “ADD BRAND” in the top-right corner or “Edit” an existing brand to find the updated customization tools. Once you are in your brand settings, click the “Brand Preferences” tab.  You will now notice that you have the ability to set the desired Headline character count and Headline Case style for your BRIEF outputs. See below:

The default Casing style for each output is set to “Sentence case,” but if you click the dropdown you have the option to select between Sentence Case, Title Case, and Capitalized Case for your BRIEF Headline outputs.  See below:

After selecting the desired case for your BRIEF outputs, simply click the “SAVE” button in the top right corner of the screen to save your settings. Now your brand preferences will apply to BRIEF outputs you generate moving forward. We will continue to add additional customization options for output settings in future releases.

Adjust your summary length in BRIEF

You’ve likely become accustomed to adjusting summary length in SUM between 1 sentence, 2 sentences, and a paragraph.  Well you can now do the same with BRIEF. Your initial output will default to a paragraph, just like SUM, and you will have the ability to click the diamond icon next to the Article Summary output to change the length of your BRIEF summary. See below:

Define your Social Style for SOCIAL outputs between News and Promotional

Thank you to all of our partners who shared feedback on the tone of our SOCIAL outputs. We listened. You will now have 2 options for the Social Style of your SOCIAL outputs:

  • News - focused on providing the most relevant information in a straightforward, easy to understand manner
  • Promotional - focused on driving engagement and interaction with the social output

When you navigate to the SOCIAL tool via the left navigation bar, you will now see the ability to set your Social Style under your OUTPUT SETTINGS. See below:

The default style for Social Style will be set to News, which will mean you will no longer see emojis or hashtags in the outputs. Hashtag suggestions will still be available at the bottom of the screen, but they will not automatically be in the post copy.

If you set the Social Style to Promotional, you will notice that the output leverages more engaging language and emojis based on article content.

Define your Social Style in our Browser Extension

Similar to your ability to define your Social Style preference in our Dashboard, you can also set your Social Style preference when generating social outputs via our browser extension. See below:

  • News (Default) - focused on providing the most relevant information in a straightforward, easy to understand manner with no emojis
  • Promotional - focused on driving engagement and interaction with the social output; will include emojis when relevant

Once you have set your desired Social Post Style for social outputs, click the “Save” button at the bottom of the page.

You will now see a new output, Summary, within the Content tab of our WordPress/Newspack CMS Plugin.

Your Nota Tools within the WordPress/Newspack plugin will now produce a paragraph summary after you click the Analyze page button for the content in your post/listing. The Summary section will show up between the Excerpt and Tags section of the Content tab. See below:

As a reminder, all of this content is completely editable. You will also have the ability to Copy the Summary via the Copy button within the text box. Pictured above.

Append the hashtags you love and ignore the ones you don’t with our update to Social in the WordPress/Newspack CMS Plugin.

Previously, our Nota Tools would automatically add relevant hashtags to the end of each social post. Now, Nota will empower you to decide on the hashtags you want to append to your post. Simply click the Analyze content button and go to the Social tab. Everything will look the same and you will notice that none of the copy for the social media platforms will have hashtags. Scroll to the bottom of the Social tab and you will see the Recommended hashtags based on your post/listing copy listed in order of relevance based on the depth of color.

Click the hashtags you like, and ignore the ones you don’t. You will see that for those you select, a new section of hashtags will appear for Selected tags.  You will also notice that the hashtag(s) selected have been added to the end of each of your social outputs. Now you can copy your output as you always have and post it to the platform of choice. See below:

That’s all for this release. Stay tuned for future updates!
