VID Pro: Working With Tracks & Groups

Tracks and groups can be added, removed, renamed, duplicated, and reordered in the timeline. Group settings allow for adjusting the start time and selecting an enter/exit transition for all media elements in the group.

Highlighted Actions:

  • To include a new track or group, simply click on "Add Track". Conversely, to eliminate a track, click on "Delete". If you wish to rename a track, select its name. For duplicating a track or group, use the "Duplicate" option.
  • You can organize your tracks by dragging them into a group or by clicking on the "+" sign to insert a new track within a group.

Adding/Removing a Track/Group

Click the “Add Track” button to add either a track or a group. You can add other tracks to a group.


Click the three dots to expand the track menu and click “Delete” to remove the track.

Rename a Track/Group

Clicking on the track name will let you type a new name.

Duplicate a Track/Group

Click on the three dots to expand the track menu and click “Duplicate” to copy the track/group. Any media elements on the track will also be copied along with any nested tracks in a group.

Adding Tracks to a Group

Once you have added a group, you can either drag a track into the group or click the green “+” to the right on the group to add a new track to the group.

Reordering a Track/Group

Click and drag the drag handle on a track or group to reorder it.

Moving a Group on the Timeline

The blue bar that displays on a group shows the full duration of the group. This starts with the first media element within the group and ends with the last media element in the group.


Click and drag the group’s blue bar to reposition all media elements within the group on the timeline.

Group Settings

Click on a group’s blue bar to display the settings for that group. You can move the group by adjusting the start time.


Selecting an enter/exit transition will transition all media elements in the group together.
